New Buckenham is a small village surrounded by farmland and is situated about a mile from the centre of Old Buckenham on the B113, 15 miles from Norwich, 4 miles from Attleborough and 8 miles from Diss.
New Buckenham was once a flourishing town and centre for a sheep fair. Now effectively a village with the layout of streets in a near orthogonal medieval grid pattern making this a village of unusual interest. The village is an outstanding Conservation Area with a number of 15th – 17th century timber framed buildings and is built tightly around the Market Place with its unusual 16th century market house on stilts.
