Situated 3 miles from the town of Brandon is where you will find the little villages of Hockwold and Wilton. The two places run from one to the other, nestling in the countryside beside the Little Ouse River, between the Brecklands with its forests to the east, and the Fens with extensive waterways and bogs to the west. There is a marked dividing line between the two villages, a square stone block which has engraved upon it a set of ram’s horns.
