Ashwellthorpe, Wreningham and Fundenhall all share the same parish and have some joint facilities such as a school, playgroup and social club. Each village has its own pub.
Ashwellthorpe is a small village that stands between Long Stratton and Wymondham. The parish church dates from the 13th century and contains a finely carved 15th century alabaster monument on the tomb of Sir Edmund de Thorpe. Ashwellthorpe Hall (now a hotel) is mainly Tudor with some Victorian additions. The Hall is owned by the Disabled Drivers' Association, whose national headquarters are based here.
Wymondham as the nearest town provides good local shopping as well as high street shops and supermarkets, schooling, banks, restaurants, transport links, health centers & surgeries and some leisure facilities.

- Ashwellthorpe Hall Hotel: owned by The Disabled Drivers Association. Gives holidays to the disabled, also open to non-residents.
